The Department of Energy issued the final in a series of reports on October 11 on the department's gaseous diffusion plants. DOE announced that it is taking several actions to improve worker safety and health as well as public and environmental protection at the former K-25 site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The recent report concludes that there are no immediate risks to worker or public health from current operations on or off the site, now called the East Tennessee Technology Park. More information on investigations at DOE's three gaseous diffusion plants is available from the October 11 Press Release.
