The Health Physics Society sponsored a Congressional Educational Briefing on March 28, 2001. The briefing, titled "What We Know and What We Don't Know About Radiation Health Effects," was attended by about 50 people, including Congressman Vernon Ehlers (R-MI) and Congressman John B. Larson (D-CT), cosponsors of the briefing. The briefing consisted of three short presentations titled "Radiation Exposure—A Fact of Life" by Dr. Dade Moeller, "What We Know and What We Don't Know About Radiation Health Effects" by Dr. Genevieve Roessler, and "Fair Compensation For Radiation Injury" by Donald E. Jose, Esq. President Paul Rohwer opened the briefing and Society Congressional Liaison Keith Dinger moderated the Question and Answer period that followed the presentations.
