CCHPS Recognizes Two Students at Mid-Columbia Science Fair
The Columbia Chapter of the Health Physics Society (CCHPS) recognized two students at the 2022 Mid-Columbia Science and Engineering Fair at the awards ceremony on 12 March 2022. Brynn Lenz from Christ the King Middle School ("Clean or Dirty") and Ourania-Maria Glezakou-Elbert from Hanford High School ("A Comparison of Machine Learning Algorithms in Identifying Higgs Boson Events From the Background") received diplomas and monetary awards. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the fair was held in a virtual format. David Ottley from the CCHPS Public Information & Education Committee (Science Fair subcommittee) served as a judge at this year's fair. The Mid-Columbia Science and Engineering Fair is the oldest science fair in the state of Washington and is organized by the Mid-Columbia Science Fair Association (MCSF Association).
