Illinois Tech Program Turns 25

The Illinois Tech Graduate Program in Health Physics is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The program has been serving working professionals in the field of health physics over this time. Most classes are available in a web-based format to help practitioners manage their time commitments. A ceremony will be held to commemorate the occasion at noon (CDT) on Friday, 24 June 2022, in the Pritzker Science Center, 3015 South Dearborn Street, Chicago, IL 60616. Students, alumni, and friends of the program are welcome to the celebration. At this time, we will also honor Shih-Yew Chen as he retires after 10 years as the program director. He has been a mentor to countless graduates of the program. We will also welcome David Scherer as the new director. David comes to Illinois Tech after more than a quarter century as radiation safety officer at the University of Illinois, along with experience in medical health physics, state government, and the US Army.
