Dr. Michael Stabin has been invited to visit Bariloche, Argentina, as a Fulbright Scholar. From 19 to 23 September, an advanced school on radiological protection will be held at Balseiro Institute. There will be lecturers both from Argentina and abroad, and Stabin will deliver one or more of the lectures, in addition to delivering talks on Friday afternoon to the university group. Stabin will also spend two weeks visiting a nuclear medicine facility and will provide information to the staff there about use of radiopharmaceuticals in nuclear medicine therapy, internal dosimetry, and issues of radiobiology.
The Fulbright program is an American scholarship program of competitive, merit-based grants for international educational exchange for students, scholars, teachers, professionals, scientists, and artists. Under the Fulbright program, competitively selected American citizens may become eligible for scholarships to study, conduct research, or exercise their talents abroad, and citizens of other countries may qualify to do the same in the United States. The prestigious Fulbright program provides 8,000 grants annually to undertake graduate study, advanced research, university lecturing, and classroom teaching.
