The Baltimore-Washington Chapter's first technical meeting of the 2022–2023 season will be held virtually on 15 September 2022, 7 pm EDT. Ronald E. Goans, PhD, MD, MPH, will present "The Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio as a Triage Tool in Criticality Accidents."
Dr. Goans is senior medical advisor with MJW Corporation and senior medical/scientific advisor at the Radiation Emergency Assistance Center/Training Site (REAC/TS). His PhD in physics is from the University of Tennessee and his MD is from George Washington University School of Medicine. His current research involves (1) development of rapid triage techniques for mass casualty radiation-related terrorist incidents, (2) development of ultrasound techniques for analysis of local radiation injury, and (3) infrared characteristics of local radiation injury.
