Eric Goldin, Awards Committee Chair
Now is a great time to submit your nominations for Health Physics Society (HPS) awards that will be given at the 2023 HPS Annual Meeting in July in National Harbor, Maryland. The December 2022 issue of the Health Physics Journal included articles on many of the 2022 awards presented at the annual meeting in Spokane. These show a terrific slate of awardees.
More information about nomination requirements can be found on the Awards Nomination Process page of the HPS website. The deadline is 1 March 2023 (except for the National Student Science Award). Please submit nominations by clicking here. Nominations remain in the queue for three years, but you may want to consider updating previous submissions to include any important new information that may be valuable in evaluating the nomination. If you have questions, contact the Awards Committee Chair.
For most awards, the Society rules require that nominations be made by chapter presidents, by section presidents, or by a petition of six members of the Society. However, there are exceptions:
- Fellow Award nominations may be made by any full member.
- National Student Science Award nominations may be made by any full member, chapter president, or section president.
- Geoffrey G. Eichholz Outstanding Science Teacher Award nominations may be made by chapter presidents, section presidents, the chair of the Science Support Committee, or any full member of the Society.
