14 September 2001
Dear Friends,
On Tuesday September 11, 2001, we witnessed a series of terrible events. On behalf of the Health Physics Society (HPS), I offer deepest condolences and sympathies to the survivors, families, and friends of those who perished. We wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We also give special recognition to those brave firefighters, police, and rescue squads who gave their lives helping others live.
If you are aware of any Society member or a relative of a Society member who perished or who is injured, please pass the information on to Gen Roessler.
I wish swift and unyielding justice to the perpetrator(s) of the September 11, 2001, criminal acts.
And I encourage Health Physics Society members to assist in any way possible to help recover from the events of September 11, 2001.
George Anastas, President
Health Physics Society
