Latha Vasudevan, Science Support Committee Chair
The Health Physics Society (HPS) Science Support Committee will be hosting a science teacher workshop during the 68th HPS Annual Meeting at Gaylord National Harbor, Maryland. The workshop will be held virtually and in person 23 July 2023, 2–6 pm (Eastern time).
This workshop is specifically for middle and high school teachers wanting to learn—and share—information about ionizing radiation and radiation protection with their students.
The workshop is a four-hour overview of the entire course, which includes the provided PowerPoint slides, lesson plans, and radiation detector kit. There is no registration fee for the workshop. For more information, visit the HPS Science Teacher Workshop web page.
If chapters (any HPS members) would like to conduct a science teacher workshop in the future, they are welcome to come in person to Room Camellia at the Gaylord National Harbor to support the instructors and provide feedback. The instructors would prefer to have a live audience.
