On June 5, 2002, Senator Pete Domenici (R-NM) paid special tribute to Dr. Lauriston S. Taylor from the Senate floor on the occasion of Dr. Taylor's 100th birthday.
The Senator made the tribute in response to a request from Health Physics Society President George Anastas. The tribute cites Dr. Taylor as one of the major contributors to our knowledge of radiation safety, not only in the United States but worldwide, and cites Dr. Taylor's service as President of the Society as one of his noteable accomplishments.
Senator Domenici serves on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and is active in legislative issues involving radiation safety.
