They say laughter is the best medicine. And even if you are not sick, laughter is a good stress reliever. Al Goodwyn's cartoons are sure to tickle most health physicists' funny bones.
Al has been cartooning for the Health Physics Society (HPS) newsletter since 1989, bringing us a humorous look at health physics that we have enjoyed over the years. You can view his cartoons on a new page we have started on the HPS website called "The Lighter Side." We will be adding previously printed cartoons every month. You can find a link to the page on the far right side of the top navigation bar on the HPS website, next to the meeting page link.
Al's gag and editorial cartoons have been carried in a number of newspapers, including The Washington Times. He won the 2002 South Carolina Press Association Award for humorous illustration.
Al is also a health physicist currently working for the Savannah River National Laboratory as the Washington, DC-based program manager for homeland security projects.
