Three Japanese medical doctors have been sent to Bangkok, Thailand to assist in the medical treatment of the victims of the radiation accident in Samutprakarn province near Bangkok, according to Dr. Shigenobu Nagataki, Chair, Radiation Effects Research Foundation (RERF), Hiroshima, Japan. The physicians left Narita Airport, Japan, early on 26 February for Bangkok.
Dr. Nagataki, a member of the Health Physics Society (HPS) and the HPS 1999 G. William Morgan Lecturer, told HPS website Editor Gen Roessler on 26 February, "It is our great pleasure to be able to assist them by using our knowledge as the country that received atomic bomb radiation. The members selected were according to the request from IAEA. They are:
